Weekend of big nights.

Written by Wail Team
Jeffo here,  just got done with a crazy busy and exciting weekend!  Had roughly two 13 hr days in preparation for the Tommy awards at the Overture center on Sunday.  Most importantly,  I offically won the MAMA's bassist of the year award on Saturday night!  I want to thank all of you who have supported me to this point and I can't wait to get back out there with the Wail this weekend!

HW-Live at The Corner Store in DC

Written by Sims Delaney-Potthoff
Hi All-- check out this cool video the good folks at The Corner Store in DC just sent.  We play here every chance we get.  This was an uplifting concert - we had a guitarist decide he had to move (ok, that'll happen) and then say he didn't want to go on this tour - in three days!  Mag & Jeffo and I cyphered for a moment and thought - full speed ahead!  This song - My Favorite Things - came off tremendously as a trio - check out the energy being passed back and forth.  It was a gasser!…

Hello Wail Fans! Just got home last night and man does it sure feel good to be back in the Mid-West!  It helps to return to a great present of Gloria Jean's coffee, which I'm presently ejoying **I highly recommend butter toffee by the way :)  **  Tour was a major success and I'm super excited to begin working on our new songs for ya'll.  Be sure to check out our up-coming show at the Brink on May 19th.  Possible live tapping available after the show!   Jeffo over n' out

62,000 at the Capitol

Written by Sims Delaney-Potthoff
Over the week end Mag and I were at the Capitol in Madison Wisconsin to be part of 62,000 protesters.  It was a year ago that Governor Scott Walker and the Koch Brothers (and ALEC) written and sponsored union busting bill was passed in a very sneaky and underhanded (and illegal) midnight session.  Recall Walker! Reclaim Wisconsin!

Farewell

Written by Wail Team
Hi, everyone. Mark here, wishing you all in Wailland a fond farewell. I had a great time this year, reconnecting with Sims and Maggie and getting to know Jeff, and it's been an honor to be part of such a wonderful band. I've met so many super fans and friends across the country, and I'm filled with love and gratitude to you all. I hope we can continue to meet at various festivals and concerts. Please keep supporting the Wail, and best to you all, Mark

MidWinter Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest

Written by Sims Delaney-Potthoff
a HUGE thank you to music lovers in Madison for an extremely successful MidWinter Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest. We completely filled the Brink Lounge - broke all sorts of attendance records and the music and love of music was over the top.  Music and love of it really does make the world a better place and I am so incredibly in awe of and indebted to all who come out to hear and participate in the making of great musical moments.  I am humbled - THANK YOU ALL!

Farewell Satch my old friend

Written by Sims Delaney-Potthoff
Over the weekend Maggie and Sims's 120lb buddy, Satchel Paige, died.  He was 9 (ish, he would never say for sure) There will be a gap in the middle of the canoe that will be hard to fill.  See ya pal!

Happy New Year

Written by Wail Team
Mark again - hope your celebration was as wonderful as ours was. We had people waiting at the door to get in at the Concourse Bar, and everyone had a great time without getting out of control! I had a windy, snowy ride back home to Minneapolis yesterday, took down Christmas decorations today, and hopefully my wife and I will get in a run at the YWCA this afternoon. Here's wishing you all the success and happiness you can handle in 2012!

tired

Written by Wail Team
Mark here - had a *long* day yesterday. We played a holiday party in Rockford, IL, so I left Minneapolis about 9:30 am, got home about 12:45 am - yup, 15 hours and 600+ miles! I have gigs in town for a while now, so maybe the tires will cool off!

settling in

Written by Wail Team
Mark here, We had a *great* time on the east coast, but now it's time to return to whatever normal is. We played the Brink Lounge last Saturday and had a terrific crowd, then I beat it back to Minneapolis in time for my regular Sunday brunch with a band I play with called Patty and the Buttons. We got new hammers put on our piano today, so I'm psyched about getting reaquainted with my keyboard chops.
