Beautiful Fall

Written by Wail Team
Mark here, I had a few great outdoor gigs this week, enjoying the weather while it's still warm. I also ran a 4 mile race to benefit PACER, an organization that serves families with children who have special needs. The theme was fighting bullying - can you do anything to help?

Sims & Mag from Ardara, Co. Donegal

Written by Sims Delaney-Potthoff
Hi All,  just a quickie from a wee internet cafe in Ardara.  Had a wonderful session last nite at the Corner Pub here - great fiddler - Paddy O'Rourke. We stayed in Culdaff for a few nites and became friend with Neil McGrory - he has a top notch pub and music room - called McGrory's.   Ok times up - more later -- all the best from rainy Irerland - SDP - (I'm thinking of changing my name to Finn McMichael)

Last weekend, next..

Mark again - my wife Kathy and I had a great Sunday - we drove to La Crosse to help dear friends celebrate their 10th anniversary. We took our time and enjoyed a spectacular ride along the St Croix and Mississippi rivers and spent the night - quite a treat for us. Next weekend, of course, is the Midwest Gypsy Jazz festival, and I'm really looking forward to some spectacular music. I hope you've all purchased tickets!

Life is good!

Written by Wail Team
Mark again- I had another fabulous weekend of bluegrass and jazz. It started with Larryfest near La Farge, WI, where I played with Jon Garon and Jack Lawrence (Doc Watson's 2nd guitarist for years.) I also got to see and hear my old friends Laurie Lewis, Tom Rozum and their band, including the amazing Alan Munde on banjo - heaven! Saturday was another set at Larryfest, then 2 hours to Highland, WI for a wedding with HW, and after a late start, 5 hours home to Minneapolis (3 am arrival...) Sunday brunch was 11-2 with a trad jazz band Patty…

Last weekend

Written by Wail Team
Hi all, I had a great weekend playing with the Mark Kreitzer Band at the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival. I got to meet some new friends - April Verch and her band, Sierra Hull and her band, Dale Ann Bradley - and reconnected with *many* friends. I'm happy to be recuperating at home before another big week. Hope you're all enjoying the waning days of summer!
