Busy!

Written by Wail Team
Mark here - It's been crazy busy for me, with no end in sight for a bit. I was in South Dakota last weekend with the Mark Kreitzer Band, heading to Madison today for Jazz at 5, then back for a swing dance tomorrow night with a traditional jazz band called the Southside Aces, *then* on to the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association festival near St Cloud. Life is good!

HW at FullMoon Concert - Iron Mt. MI

Written by Sims Delaney-Potthoff
Hi Guys, Man summer is here full swing eh?  Two weeks ago Mag and I and Henry and Emmett (our boys) were in Racine for a family gathering and my Dad's memorial/burial service.  Cathartic is the word.  I wrote a nice waltz for dad's eulogy, I'll share it later - maybe the Wail will record it.  Thanks Dad - see ya on the other side. Last weekend the Wail had a wonderful northern swing.  First a sell out crowd at the Full Moon Concert in Iron Mt, MI - the pic - then on to the absolutely perfect Hiawatha Traditional…

Mark here - we're just packing up to head home after an amazing weekend in Michigan. Thursday we played a fabulous house concert in Iron Mountain, then we've been at the Hiawatha Music Festival in Marquette, and the folks couldn't have been nicer. Still, I'm looking forward to getting home for a few days.

Sims' Green Amesqua Mando

Written by Sims Delaney-Potthoff
What a week, what a week.  Just to get the holiday weekend off to a good start I broke the neck off of my new Debra Amesqua mandolin.  I had it in a gig bag on my bike -- what an idiot.  I just met with Debra and Luthier Lane Venden and took a pic of the decapitated neck -- oooooo ouch - but the pic didn't take.  Just as good, one doesn't want to take those kind of disasters to bed with ya.  Over the weekend Maggie and I cleaned and painted and scrubbed bricks on our housse.  It…
