The style in question being gypsy swing, introduced in the 1930's by Django Reinhardt's and Stephane Grappelli's Quintette du Hot Club de France, The Wail play this infectiously joyful music, as well as jazz of other styles, on bass, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, and the oddest assortment of percussion you've ever seen. On July 10 - NPR's Morning Edition used The Wail's Tishamingo Blues and Posh de Wash as a bump after a story about France's Model Health Care For New Mothers. - maybe we can get Sylvia Pujolli to do a cameo on the next CD. While you're at it check out HWail's my space page - Range Records has been working it lately and they've done a bang up job ---- and Range's home page as well http://www.myspace.com/rangerecords http://rangeentertainment.com/ |
